Move to Hillsboro

In late September of 2010, I made arrangements with Randy Salvig, who owns and operates Randco Tanks, a builder of construction and firefighting tankers to haul Fire 32 to Hillsboro. Randy owns a Freightliner semi with a flat bed trailer that he uses to deliver his water tenders, and he agreed to help me out making the move. While I had been through the carburator and had it running good a couple of times, the truck was just not running right and I was not comfortable making the drive from Vancouver to Hillsboro, so I felt safer trailering it rather than risking a breakdown. On October 1st, Randy met me in a parking lot not far from the shop where we loaded Fire 32 onto the trailer and hit the freeway for the trip across town. It was an interesting experience looking at Fire 32 up on the trailer as I followed him down the freeway, thinking we were really headed to paint and I would soon be seeing Fire 32 in its original red and white colors.
